Charming Hand-Molded Greek Terracotta Horse Circa First Half of the 6th Century BC
Description: Delightful Greek terracotta statuette of a horse standing at attention. This solid, handformed horse displays the standard stylized features typical for the period, including and upright forelock, long flattened tail and peg-style legs. Large brown ovals form the eyes. Various brown stripes cover this cute animal. From Boeotia, known for producing some of the finest terracottas in ancient Greece. Height: 3.5 in. (9 cm) Condition: A small area of expert restoration to the head, otherwise intact with original color. Provenance: This horse was formerly a British property.
