Report: Ancient City of Apollonia Discovered

A greek farmer plowing his field uncovered a solid gold Greek wreath dating to the 4th century BC.

While the wreath is only the third of its kind ever found in Greece, the find is all the more spectacular because it has led archaeologists to survey the land and in the process uncover a major new ancient Greek city called Apollonia.

Scientists on the project claim that the population of ancient Apollonia rivaled that of Athens. Excavations are now underway. No word on how the farmer is being compensated.
