According to the Associated Press, Bulgarian archaeologists have reported finding another in a series of remarkable discoveries from the ancient kingdom of Thrace.

This time archaeologists believe they have found remants of the capital of the Odrisses, an ancient Thracian tribe, which once ruled over what is modern southern Bulgaria and European Turkey. The remnants were not located far from a three-story palace dating to the fifth and fourth century BC was unearthed a week earlier near the village of Perperek, about 200 miles southeast of Sofia.

The city is thought to have been one of the Thracians' holiest places. There is also evidence that the Thracians, well know for their superb craftmanship of gold and silve, also conducted astronomical observations of the sun from the city, according to the report.
