Oxford University Publishes Dead Sea Scrolls

Though discovered between 1947 and 1956, the Dead Sea Scrolls were kept unpublished until November 15, 2001, according to a report on Reuters.

Scientists using e-mail, digital cameras, multispectral imaging, and laser printing helped finally accelerate the publication which now consists of more than 37 over-sized volumes with an addition 15 to come. The scrolls have been published by Oxford University Press under the title "Discoveries in the Judean Desert."

The Dead Sea Scrolls, which dated from 250 BC to 70 AD, are written in a Hebrew, Latin, Greek and Aramaic.
