Inscribed Silver Finger-Ring

Circa 2nd Century AD   

 

Description:  A silver finger-ring with agate oval-shape bezel.  The design of the bezel consists of a white oval with a grey encircling border.  Etched across the center of the white portion is the name "LILOZI".  The agate is heavily veined.  Attractive and rare example of Roman jewelry.

Diameter of Ring:  0.9 in. (2.1 cm)
Bezel Width:  0.6 in. (1.5 cm)
Bezel Height:  0.5 in. (1.3 cm)

Condition:  Complete with a break at the back of the ring.  Agate is exceptionally well preserved.

Provenance:  Formerly a British property.
