Near Eastern Terracotta Female FigurineCirca 2000-1500 BC
Description: Stylized terracotta female figurine with beaked bird-like face. She stands with a slender flattened body and splayed foot. Her face is rendered with dominant pierced disc eyes and pointed head with locks of hair visible behind. She holds her stubby triangular arms outward. The female is adorned with a thick double-strand necklace that is incised in areas creating a rope-like appearance. Height: 4.5 in. (11.5 cm) Condition: Intact as shown. Provenance: Formerly in an East Coast private collection.
