Fragments of Time Announces New
Catalogue XXVI Available

All current Fragments of Time clients and subscribers should have by now
received our Spring 2003 catalogue entitled Art from the Ancient World
XXVI.
The catalogue follows our customary 32-page, full-color format. More
than 65 museum-quality objects in all price ranges are included, each fully
illustrated and described. Most objects have notable provenances including
several Egyptian objects from the collection of an early 20th century New York
author; pottery from the collection of noted U.K. scholar Desmond Morris, glass
vessels formerly in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and
several objects from the Charterhouse School Collection in Britain formed
1874-1940.
Egyptian highlights of the catalogue include a substantial yet finely
detailed Bronze Osiris figure, nearly 8-inches high; a Naqada I Period stone
palette more than 11 inches long; and a bronze standing pair pendant with a rare
representation of Onuris and Mehyt.
In the classical area, highlights include a Greek terracotta altar depicting
two winged griffins attacking a horse; a pottery aryballos depicted an Homeric
siren; a pair of Roman bronze lion handles; and a superb late Roman/early
Byzantine bronze boot lamp complete with chain.
