Massive Find of Roman Military Objects in Croatia River
An archaeological team from the University of Bimingham, UK, has made a remarkable discovery in a riverbed in Croatia. A wide variety of Roman military objects, including 90 swords, a Roman legionnaire's dagger and sheath, more than 30 helmets and numerous other metal objects has been uncovered in the River Cetina. The archaeologist leading the project called the find a once in a lifetime discovery. In addition to Roman finds, the area around the site is yielding evidence of Neolithic or early Bronze are settlements. Click for more information and a photo of one of the objects found at the site.
