Phoenician Foot Amulet
Circa 6th-3rd Century BC
Description: Amulet in the form of a stylized human foot made from
pinkish-beige porous stone. The foot is flat on the bottom with a pointed toe
and short squared ankle pierced for suspension. It is presumed that amulets in
the shape of feet or legs were to bestow mobility or replace a lost limb in the
afterlife.
Height: 04. in. (1 cm)
Length: 0.5 in. (1.3 cm)
Condition: Intact.
