More Pompeiian Discoveries  

Japanese archaeologists have discovered the remains of two new skeletons at Pompeii. They are believed to have been slaves who died chained to a wall, unable to escape the lava of Mt. Vesuvius' eruption in 79 A.D. They are well preserved and were found dug up by the Japanese team 'outside a castle wall on the Northern edge of the ruins.' A foot chain is attached to the leg of one while the other's waist has a metal buckle, thought to belong to a female slave.  Read the Japan Today article for more
