Two Fine Egyptian Bead Necklaces

Circa 712-332 BC 

Description:  Two groups of faience beads strung together as necklaces. 

Item a) is comprised “spacer” beads glazed in various shades of green, blue, red, black and beige. (The outer necklace in the photo at right.)

Item b) has a delicate quality and is arranged in a consistent pattern of long tubular beads and spacer beads mostly in shades of green and turquoise with a few darker beads throughout. (The inner necklace in photo at right.)

Diameter: a): 11.75 (29.5 cm)   b): 12 in. (30 cm).

Condition: Intact as shown and both are wearable with modern string and clasps.

Provenance: Both were formerly in a private Ohio collection.
