Objects from the Collection Sold 1998-2000

Prior to the passing of Madame Diniacopoulos, a number of larger objects from the Diniacopoulos Collection were consigned and sold at auction. Some of these objects included:

- Egyptian Unfinished Early Limestone Man, estimated at $30,000-50,000, sold for $145,500 to a German museum. (The large black stone palette (see Lot #1 in the Fragments of Time mail bid sale) is said to have been found in situ with this statue. The statue is shown on a wooden base at the far left of the photo.)

- Egyptian 22/23rd Dynasty Wood Polychrome Coffin, estimated at $25,000-35,000, sold for $112,500.

- Pair of Roman Period Limestone Sphinxes, estimated $25,000-35,000, sold for $90,500.

- Ottoman Blue and White Dish, 16th Century, estimated at $3,000-5,000, sold for $54,050.

- A 14" x 14" Fragmentary Egyptian Limestone Relief of a Nobleman, 19th Dynasty, estimated at $10,000-15,000, sold for $57,500.

- Mixed lot of Egyptian Stucco Fragments, estimated at $3,000-5,000, sold for $22,500.
