South Italian Black-Glazed JugletsCirca 4th Century BC
Description: Two black-glazed elegantly shaped single-handled jugs with lustrous surfaces. Item a) has a teardrop-shaped body, tapered neck, wide flared mouth, slender flat-in-section handle from lip to shoulder and offset flared ring foot. Item b) has a full rounded body with offset neck, flared lip, broad flat-in-section handle and low raised ring base. Height: a): 2.5 in. (6.2 cm) b): 2.3 in. (6 cm) Condition: Both are intact except item b) has minor surface chips and some thin encrustation. Provenance: Both were formerly in a private British collection. Price: $ 375 each
