Crisply Molded Lamp with Winged Amor (Roman Eros)Circa 1st Century AD
Description: Round-bodied pottery oil lamp with the Roman Amor (Eros) depicted in the sunken medallion. The wide shoulder of the lamp is enhanced with a decorated floral wreath design often used to symbolizing success or victory. Short, round nozzle. Formed of very fine tan clay with traces of a red-brown slip. Height: 4.3 in. (11 cm) Condition: Crisp and intact except for the ring handle, the top of which is missing.
